Our knowledge and life experience regarding privilege and inequality motivates us to self-advocate and empower ourselves and others. We live purposefully and with minimal regrets. We both identify as introverts but enjoy engaging in what is perceived as a ‘mainly extrovert world.’ Collectively, we’ve traveled to over 40 countries. We are dual UK/Canadian citizens and presently live, work and play in Canada, with respect on traditional and unceded Coast Salish Territories, the ancestral lands of the sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), sc̓əwaθən məsteyəx (Tsawwassen), SEMYOME (Semiahmoo) and Matsqui nations.

Janice (Jay): an advocate for social justice, equity and inclusion, Jay has worked in non-profit organizations for over 25 years, with 20 years experience in leadership roles including director, manager and project manager for an innovative newcomer/refugee centre. Her trauma therapy, mediation and crisis intervention training (Crisis & Trauma Resource Institute), degree in Adult Education, masters’ studies in Public Administration and lived experiences are key influences in how she brings a racially-sensitive lens to the framework of coaching, and effectively engages in racial and gender discrimination, mental health and justice work. Jay’s intuitive, relational personality is enhanced by her accredited coaching training, where she received her Approved Coach Specific Training Hours (ACSTH) in 2013, recognized by the ICF (International Coach Federation). She holds a TESOL certificate (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), is a licensed Early Childhood and Infant/Toddler Educator and achieved Nursery Nurse (NNC) and Family Resource Practitioner diplomas. She utilized these credentials to design early childhood and EAL/literacy curriculum and has worked as a trainer, facilitator and instructor in the early childhood and English language learning (EAL) fields. Jay loves to listen, dance to, and create music, play tennis, box, practice reflexology on family and friends and quietly relax, with a good book, a huge bar of chocolate and a pot of tea.
